I have ever seen on the web. The product they sell is useless by all accounts and I suspect that most of their money comes from naive new customers who are just going off the big name.

I wanted to put a little humor into it as I’m still laughing over my deactivated and soon to be gone account. Hopefully others will see the other side to Blue host and move on to someone else before falling. | :P

Has anyone else found it particularly odd that when you sign up for a Bluehost account the domain propagates in mere minutes and you can have your site live in less than 10 minutes. But when you’re transferring out…it takes forever for them to release the domain? I’m on day 2 of cancelling my BH account and switching over the DNS and website, and it’s still loading the page hosted on Bluehost. I spoke with someone from BH and they informed me that it could take up to 4-5 days. Which is complete and utter BS! I’ve worked with several hosting companies throughout my career and I’ve never had to wait this long to transfer a domain/website.

God they suck…they really do.

I’ve been a loyal BlueHost customer for a number of years – until yesterday. I maintain at least 6 domains for others on BlueHost. One in particular had been nefariously accessed three times in the period of 7 days and used as part of a “phishing” scam. Immediately after receiving each notification from BlueHost that the account had been suspended for violation of their “Terms of Service” I resolved the problem. On each occasion I took the advise of the Terms of Service Representative on ways to further secure the domain.

Yesterday I was informed that the client’s account was permanently suspended from BlueHost and that I would have to find a new hosting provider. Sadly, it would appear that loyalty to BlueHost is a “one-way street” and I can, and will, no longer recommend their services. I will also be moving all domains I maintain to another service.

Though the reason for permanent suspension was “Violation of Terms of Service” in that the client’s account had been suspended too many times during a 7 day period, I can find no reference to such a limit in their published terms.

I do not dispute the fact that someone had broken into the client’s domain and installed phishing scripts. I am however, extremely angry that despite resolving the issue within 24 hours, and implementing the advise of the BlueHost representative to further secure the site, they still chose to permanently suspend the domain. This IS NOT Customer Service, this is Customer NON-Service; a clear indication that while they are willing to take a client’s money for hosting services, they are not willing to do anything in return beyond staring at a router’s blinking lights.

Another one bites the dust. Our site was just suspended with ABSOLUTELY no warning, just as I was finishing a story. Then when I called they told me we were hacked and that they would no longer be our host and literally told me to take my business elsewhere.

Bluehost sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hosted my site on Bluehost from July to August of last year. I spent the entire summer building it. Then I started getting server errors, database errors, etc. They tried to blame the problems on me. Long story short, I canceled the account. I lost so much data I was furious. Horrible, horrible company. Avoid at all costs.
